Welcome to the Learning Resource Centre at Nova Hreod

Your Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is open for browsing at 8.15am til 8.30am each day. Students are invited to pop in during lunchtimes at these times .

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 12.20pm - 1.10pm.

Enrichments will be held on Thursday lunchtimes, so there will be nt be any open access.

Open access during morning break on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Access is occassionally restricted to support specific activities.

All students are invited to use the LRC after College until 4.15pm on Monday to Thursday . A member of the LRC Staff will be available to support students during these open access sessions.

Today is a great day to learn something new! Many of you will come into the LRC with your teacher to carry out research and find information on topics you are covering. Students are welcome to come into the LRC and carry on with that research at Open Access sessions, where Mrs Slaven-Holder will be on hand to offer some help if wanted. But if you are suffering from information overload and want to chill out, the LRC is the cool place to be! Browse the shelves for something to tempt you.....

Play a game with friends......................................
Join in the Reading Game sessions...........
or join the Warhammer activity sessions.......................
Read, read and read some more in a comfortable atmosphere.

September

Attended author Anthony Horowitz talk as part of Bath Children’s Literary Festival.
Designed the distinctive BRO logo, posters.

October

Put up BRO display in the LRC.
Discussed the types and range of reading material of interest to boys, selected some samples for future purchase.
Approximate costs worked out.
Funding secured via Literacy Group for purchases.
Attended a Poetry and Story session in the LRC as part of the LRC Book Event Week.

November

Information for LRC VLE section drafted.
Photo shoot of male members of staff reading in their rooms took place.

January

Planned BRO section on the College Website.

February

Updated photographs and displays around the College.
BRO web pages went live.

March

Ran a Reading Swap Shop in the Atrium during World Book Day.
Plans made to attend some sessions at the Swindon Literary Festival in May.
